Hundsgugel Heu27

Description of the product

Hundsgugel is a type of bascinet-type helmet with a cone-shaped visor strongly extended forward. The helmet got its name for its resemblance to a dog's muzzle. This shape of the visor increases its surface area, which allows it to be equipped with many ventilation holes. The conical shape of the Hundsgugel's visor helped the tip of the enemy spear to slide off even with a powerful blow. The helmet was used by European knights in the XIV-XV centuries.
